Royal Garden

Known for flowering in the cold winters, and resisting hot summers the Iris flower has been used to denote royalty since ancient times. In this painting I have used gold and blue to highlight how this flower was a symbol of power.

A part of the Flowers series, it is my rendition of the different emotions flowers evoke in our hearts. I have painted this series on pure silk using silk dyes, reflecting the soft texture and colours of flower petals. The tapestry style further brings out the feel of flowers nodding happily in an open field, unbound by traditional frames.

A great way to bring indoors various colours of nature, these silk paintings are shipped in the form of scrolls, arriving ready to hang.
